How long after completeing 2 year college( IGETC) should it take to get a PHD? or Masters degree?

IGETC, like a transfer cariculum at a Junior / 2 year college, and then applying those credits towards a 4 year college?
For example, after completing about 60 unites at a junior college, how many more "units" or time might be needed in college for a masters, or bachelors educational degree?
*units* sorry

After a junior college, it takes two more years to get a bachelor’s degree.

Most master’s programs take one or two years after a bachelor’s degree.

A PhD takes from four to seven years after a bachelor’s degree.

what is the difference between a bachelors degree, masters, phd, md, etc? how long does it take to earn each?

Bachelor’s Degree – four years (full time) post high school. You will generally earn a BS (Bachelor of Science) or BA (Bachelors of Arts)

Masters Degree – 2 years (full time) generally about 60 credits. You need a bachelor’s degree to get a masters degree.

Phd. – Doctorate – 4-7 years, including doctoral dissertation. You can do a Phd. right from 4 year college without getting a masters first, but most people get the masters first.

MD – Medical Doctor – Med school and internship, done after BS or BA degree – can take 8 years.

Good luck!

Can someone get their PhD/Masters degree without matching it to their bachelors?

For example, I want to get my Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy but I want to get my PhD and Master’s in Psychology. Is that "possible" or would I have to get my Bachelor’s in Psychology, too?

yes, but you may need to take some basic psychology courses as an undergrad as electives. Check with your academic adviser and check out the requirements for graduate schools you may wish to attend to find out what course work you will need in addition to your undergrad major.

Masters degree in nursing?

I have an associate’s degree in nursing (RN) and I have a bachelor’s degree in Funeral Direction and Embalming. I want to get my masters in nursing so I need to get my bachelor’s in nursing before my masters or can I go into a master’s program?

These people above have no clue about the business or healthcare world…

Dont get your Masters in NUrsing
You are already an RN
Get a Masters in Finance, Marketing, Education, Business or a science
or pursue a BS and then a certification in Nurse Practitioner or Phys Assistant.

Someone told me that having two undergraduate (bachelor) degrees is equivalent to having a graduate (master) degree. Is this true in the U.S.? If this is not true, are there any advantages in having two undergraduate degrees when you look for jobs?

No – it is not the same. The advantage is in having a knowledge base in two disciplines. It’s especially helpful if they are connected. Criminal Justice and Psychology work well together.
