can you do masters degree and phd at the same time?

for any courses i.e. psychology? and how long would that take?

There are two ways you can go: 1) apply to a masters program, graduate and then reapply to the same school in the PhD program; or 2) apply to the PhD program and after your first year or two of classes, most programs will grant you a masters on your way to the more advanced degree.

If you are ultimately interested in a PhD, I would consider applying directly to a PhD program. The types of work you will be prepared for are very different, though. Do some research about what people do with a masters vs. a PhD and then make your decision from there.

Good luck!

I am not sure, but I think not. The way I understand it a Master’s is a pre-requisite to a PhD. So for you to get a PhD (if you already have a Bachelor’s Degree) would be at least 4 years.
