What’s the difference between under-graduate and graduate degrees in college?
An undergraduate degree is an associate’s degree (2-year* degree), or a bachelor’s degree (4-year*).
A graduate degree would be a master’s degree (6 year*) or a doctoral degree (8 year*). These are including the undergraduate years, so you typically need undergraduate plus two years for master’s and undergraduate plus 4 years for doctorate.
*Years can vary. You’ll see a lot of ‘lazy’ people complete a bachelor’s in 5 years, and someone who is working and going to school might take longer to get a graduate degree.

Undergraduate is before you get any sort of degree. They are classes you would take right out of high school. After you graduate, you can take graduate classes. They are more advanced and get you higher degrees.

In the U.S. an undergraduate degree is a baccalaureate degree. It normally takes 4+ years to complete. To be admitted into a graduate degree program, normally applicants must have earned at least a baccalaureate degree. It normally takes 1 1/2+ years to complete a graduate degree.
Sometimes in other countries, a baccalaureate degree is equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma and a graduate degree is equivalent to a U.S. baccalaureate degree.
